In 1975 the classroom opened on "Welcome Back Kotter". It would introduce the world to John Travolta and make him a worldwide superstar. The show was centered around The Sweathogs, a group of high school students who were not the sharpest tools in the shed. Their teacher was Mr. Kotter, who was actually a student and a sweathog earlier in his life. Now he is there to teach these losers.

The Sweathogs were Travolta as Vinny Barbarino, Ron Palillo played Arnold Horshack, Robert Hegyes was Juan Epstein and Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs played Freddie "Boom Boom" Washington. The four had great chemistry together, but after three years Travolta became this huge star and decided to move on and a new student came into the fold. He name was Beau and he forever ruined Welcome Back Kotter. The producers themselves must have been dumb sweathogs to try and find a replacement for John Travolta. Beau should have been expelled immediately. Vinny Barbarino was so well liked that nobody would accept a watered down version of him.

Stephen Shortridge played Beau. His career was mainly "Welcome Back Kotter" and guest spots on shows like "The Love Boat" and "Fantasy Island".

John Travolta of course went on to star in some of the biggest movies of all times. The three remaining original sweathogs pretty much have done nothing.
