It was a contract dispute between John Schneider and Tom Wopat that would bring these two new Dukes to our television screens. Looking much like the original Dukes, the new ones were actually the cousins of Bo and Luke. The story had it that the two left to race cars and the new cousins arrived back in town.
Coy and Luke were only in Hazzard for a short time, as the contract dispute with Schneider and Wopat was settled and they checked back into town.
The Dukes of Hazard was canceled in 1985, much to the disappointment of white trash America. However, a reunion movie was made in 1997 and a big screen version was released in 2005 starring Jessica Simpson.
A cartoon version called The Dukes was made, but only lasted one year.
